The Lambda Delete Thread

After the warnings from the Euro 4 guys about engine warning lights and poor running, my plugs are still sat on the shelf...
 
I"ve been showing the old Bonnie a little love so my plugs are also on the shelf. I hate getting involved in a project when the weather is spectacular. Rather be riding.
 
I did the decat and shorties. Bike ran superb! (I think it was Richard who said bike would need a remap)
So I deleted the lambada sensors. Bike ran crap. Would not idle.
So I re installed the lambada sensors. Bike now runs great under load, idle is better but I wouldn't call it good.
Engine running very rich. More so in right cylinder than left.
Does that mean I need a remap?
If yes, how does one get a remap in Australia.
Help?
 
I gotta say, since this whole catless and lamda delete plugs, my bike can sure stink up my garage and clothes. It runs great but damn, I see why the gov’t enforces it.
 
Hi Richard , Is it possible for David to do this ? If Nopdog sends it to you in NA ?
Assuming SC ECU ?
 
I contacted Rob from norton uk and he put me in touch with Shaun from Brisbane motorcycle who are the norton importers for Australia. Sending ECU to them for the remap. All good and very excited.

Iwilson suggested to just disconnect the plugs and try it ? Have you tried that and not use the resistor plugs ?
 
Ah.. actually I have not. Should try to do that then !
I would love to get rid of that "snatchiness" that Richard describes.
The power delivery is usually good on my bike, but the throttle response is indeed quite harsh...
 
Maybe you should just wait for a while longer. It may be better after you get a new map.
 
Yes, I've got my hopes on a good result after remap... I'll sure let you guys know what change it made !
 
Reviving this thread with an observation and a question. I've searched previous threads and not found an answer.

My observation is that my 2015 961 Sport has no connectors in the harness for the lambda sensors. The wires from the sensors run into the harness, which runs under the tank and all the way back to the SC ECU. No connectors under the tank. Is that normal? All the posts I've read here talk about connectors under the tank. I've not seen any reference to some years/models not having them. This means I would have to cut and splice the wires if I wanted to try the lambda delete. I've already got the 330 ohm resistors, but no place to put them. I was going to try them just to see if I could tell a difference. Now I think I'll just put the tank back on and worry about it later.

In any case, it sounds like it might be a bad idea to do the lambda delete while I still have the cats, so maybe I'll defer the delete for a later date. I'd hate to screw up the bike just before the rally.

You will have connectors under the tank , the sensors are a consumable part made by different manufactures , and need to be unplugged to replace.

I found mine on the left side tucked up under the oil tank behind the coil mount.
there are 2 small 4 pin connectors with possibly oxy1/oxy2 tag on the loom side of the wiring.
