Hi all , can anyone share their opinion of The Bonneville Shop ? Has anybody dealt with them ?

Thanks , Dave

Hi Dave, I've had ok experiences with them - other than their web store stinks and their return policy on some items is not the best.

Seems to me I bought gaskets from them and were IMHO high quality, not asbestos looking!

I've had good dealings with them. I bought a pair of billet petcocks from them. About a week later they went on sale for much less. I whined and asked them if they would give me the lower price and they did refund the difference. Packing and shipping times were good too.

I've bought from them many times, especially Triumph parts. Both through eBay when I didn't know better and direct. Their direct prices are high but lower than their eBay prices. They are easy to get on the phone and if placing a bigger order, I always call and ask for a better deal. If looking for AN or Amal parts - look elsewhere - their prices are through the roof.

For instance: https://www.thebonnevilleshop.com/p...t-norton-850-commando-spec-932-pn-tbs-lr932p/ these are generic 932 carbs jetted as you like.

You can find the specific Amal Premier Aluminum carbs for your bike in the classified here for over $200 less.

I've used them a bunch of times. Mostly for generic type parts. Never had a bit of problem with their website and really quick turn around shipping. Product has always been as described. They may be a bit pricey on some items but when I need something quickly I use them. For more Norton specific stuff esp AN stuff I use Waldridges out of Ontario but it takes awhile to get here. For the NOS type stuff I use Dotler or EBVC on ebay.

I ordered two rocker box base gaskets from them for my trident only one arrived
They were very rude when I asked for the second one unfortunately I was going to France on the bike so I was now out of time so I had to buy a standard gasket from the UK
When the second one eventually arrived it had got stopped by customs not the shops fault but I got clobbered for import duty and vat , cost a lot of money for something I didnt then need when if both had come in the first place it would have been fine
I did receive an apology from the Bonneville shop in the end

I will never use them again after going round and round with them on their return policy. There are many other options for anything you might need for your Norton.Just my 2 cents!

I have used them when others are out of stock on items. Have not had a bad experience. I do like the free shipping policy even if you order a $2 part.

I recently needed two new Roadster seats - one with gold lettering and one with silver lettering. I would have bought them from Wassell who sell good quality seats for WAY less than anyone else but they were out of stock and didn't know when they would be back. So, I bought the gold lettering one from AN but had to buy the silver letter one from The Bonneville Shop. The AN version is excellent quality and came with the seat buttons installed. The one from The Bonneville Shop is very good quality but needed the hold downs reformed and did not come with the seat buttons. The seat from AN was over $115 LESS delivered and arrived faster.

Unless not available elsewhere I don't buy Norton parts from them - way too expensive. They put a large markup on AN parts and in many cases the quality is poor on non-AN parts. This is not a negative on The Bonneville Shop - they sell parts for a living and AN doesn't have real dealer pricing.

I only order from them once, an electrical part that was described wrong on their website, and no returns on electrics. Theit response was that I should have done my own research and not just believe what they had on their site. NEVER AGAIN!

I bought their mushroom head tappet adjusters way back before AN listed them. Reasonably priced, nothing untoward with postage (US to UK), and they've been in there a while now doing sterling service...
So no complaints from my brief encounter.

Thanks for all of the replies . I recently purchased a 74 that sat garaged for 15 years from a riding buddy who was financing a Ducati purchase . My experience with The Bonneville Shop wasn't stellar but I don't want to start off too negatively .
I've taken note of your recommendations and will check out the sellers you recommended . Here is a link of the first start in 15 years .
I look forward to making this bike roadworthy (not restoring it ) and will be asking more questions .

Thanks again !

I bought two commando front fender stays from the bonneville shop, same part - two. The parts received didn't look alike but one actually fit after I ground the end a little. The other not even close. My only experience with them and my last. How can you not notice that the parts are not alike?
