During my rebuild of my 1973 Commando Roadster, I continue to make discoveries of components and work that I did decades ago. In replacing the wiring harness I removed the Boyer black box and discovered this well preserved sticker that dates it's origin somewhat. I purchased it from British Marketing in Laguna Niguel, CA when I lived there during the 80's. I'm thinking it was about 1985 or so when I upgraded the ignition system and when Brian Slark still owned British Marketing. I know that he sold the business not long after that.

I believe that the new owners were named Joe and Doris (can't remember their last name) and I think their main mechanic was an ace wrench named John York.

Sounds like you're on a journey like mine, I fitted a Boyer ignition to my 1970 Commando back in the 70s/80s, not sure when, but it will be somewhere in the notes I wrote at the time.

And I had a few parts that I'd ordered but not fitted back in the day, like the gearbox bush that waited from about 1983 until 2024 when I found I needed that exact bush during a gearbox rebuild.

I hear you. Over the years, some parts died and were never replaced if they didn't effect the engine running and the wheels turning. Now that I'm taking the time to fix everything, and replace some items that were never there (turn signals), I'm glad that I kept everything that came off.
I just found the spring mount for the warning light assimilator that died way back in the 80's (who needs warning lights when you're a broke kid? "Hey, the engine started just fine without it.")

I was more than a bit surprised to find it in the boxes of parts that I've accumulated.

I also used to deal with them after Brian Spark sold it.This was before I ever used a computer and they were always very helpful and I was thrilled to find a place where I could get parts from in the dark ages for me.
