Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that answered my last couple of posts you guys were right on. My son and I changed the engine oil , gear oil and put the 140 weight in the swing arm. We went out for a ride . What a difference in the bike ,tracking straighter and responding so much faster.I also sprayed ether on the intake manifolds when the rpms started climbing and they settled back down. You'll have tell me how far to cut down on the allen key so I can try to tighten the manifold down on the inside. Thanks again R.

You have two ends of the allen key, the long and the short. take a dremel with a chop disk or use a bench grinder and take down the length of the short end of the key gradually until it fits between the manifold and the body, probably leaving a half inch or a little less in length. It's not cut very far from the elbow of the tool. Just gradually work it off and square up the cut.

Ball-ended allen keys are the hot ticket for those niggly intake bolts.

Yup! Cut off the short end of the ball-ended allen wrench. Then use a 1/4" socket and ratchet with the long end of the allen wrench. Carb R&R is a piece of cake then.
