Jerry,

cheers for setting up a site where Norton riders can express their opinions and points of view etc on everything Norton, other bikes and subjects, without being subjected to the excessive, biased censorship as is implemented by Chris Grimmet of the fucking NOC. Wish I hadn't renewed my membership - do they offer a money back scheme I wonder? It's only £19.50/year but, in addition to the above, I've had enough of contributing to the lifestyle the E.C have become accustomed to, they're like the U.K government in miniature.

For any NOC members who read this and anybody else whose interested. I posted a message about 1hr ago on the NOC forum explaining why I have chosen to cancel my membership and the message has been deleted. Typical.

I have never been a member at noc, not sure why. They have some good info, i think. Here, we are more like a big norton commando family though lol.

NOC-UK was once a friendly active forum online like this one with lots of lore from them growing up rubbing shoulders with the movers and shakers of Norton from singles to twins. I joined at first but let lapse as met others and then membership was required to post on their forum and that was that for a lot of us. There is still some NOC members active on Brit Iron List but its slowed down too as mostly non Norton now so not that much riding breaking improving going on.

The NOC started life as a Motorcycle Club and only relatively recently has had a forum, which has backfired to a degree for the control freaks within the EC. I've estimated, from experience, there are less than 0.5% of members who attend rallies or use their bikes on a regular basis. In my opinion it's not a motorcycle club anymore - more like a club for posers, collectors and speculators. The members who do attend rallies are generally sound people but they are in the tiny minority.

Luckily the rally scene in the U.K is thriving, so lot's of opportunities throughout the year to have a beer and a laugh with other motorcycle enthusiasts. Hooray! :D :D

I thought this thread was about Jerry and Access Norton being great .

All that cash you saved will help run the website when you go VIP,or is it the usual NOC bashothon in disguise.

That's funny!
Most important thing is to share the knowledge and keep them on the road..
(Or just get a 961)

When I get a digi camera and then learn how to post pics I might go VIP. The money will definitely be better spent. :D

As a former N-V employee (about 2 years at Marston Road, covering the Commando and AJS Stormer development) I think this forum is a very good place to visit. I gave up on UK engineering opportunities in 1968 and emigrated to the US to work for Boeing. Haven't regretted it for a minute, despite being laid off in 1971 and rehired three years later. Between direct payroll and a couple of years on a contract through a tech services company, I put close to 30 years there.

Now retired, and living in one of the nicest small seaside towns in the US. The climate is similar to Devon & Cornwall (the SW of the UK). No nasties (we've only had snow on the ground twice in the 14 years we've lived here) and it's rare for the summer high temps to get to 80F and if it does, the humidity is around 20%.
