I just had to say thanks to Lowes for their generosity and commitment to the community good.

Our Masonic Lodge voted to build a wheelchair ramp for a distressed worthy brother. The bill of materials came to $1000. Our secretary approached the Lowes manager, explained the purpose of the materials, and asked if he could apply his Military, senior citizen, or any other discount to the bill. The manager said "No problem, Lowes will donate 100%"!

Several years ago, a tornado ripped thru Van Texas. Another brother and I went there to do whatever we could. We were shown a room where we could pick up tarps as needed. The room was full of tarps, all new in their packages, donated by Lowes.

Thank you again, Lowes. Whenever I have a choice, I will shop Lowes.

I’ll say this about our cousins across the pond, you know how to respect your military. :)
Big time.

Its really noticeable as a foreigner travelling in the US, acting service personnel always get to board flights first, acting or veterans get discounts from all sorts of places, people openly thank them for their service, etc.

Its a very admirable cultural trait and very good to see.

My shop is around the corner from a Lowes, am in there at least 3 times a week. Typically better organized than HD, and less crowded.

Good on them to give back like that, and good on you for helping out.

The same respect I assume is paid in the UK to your Vets?
By the majority of the people here yes, unfortunately not by the government, for the most part they are just left to their own devices. there are lots of ptsd ex military on the streets of this country. Illegal immigrants are generally looked after better. An absolute disgrace, sorry to say.
