Love mine as well. Not a R or RS, just a regular 1200.

Absolutely love being able to get on, put gas in, and crush 150 miles no problem.

I upgraded to a new 2013 900 Thruxton and loved it after suspension upgrade then clocked up a lot of travel miles on it then the 1200s came out so in 2018 I bought a new 2016 Thruxton S at a big reduced price with fairing kit fitted, out standing bike and completely different to the older 900 Thruxton, with a Meerkat x-pipe and opened up stock mufflers and a set of Ikon shocks, its a dream to ride, city, highway and in the twisties, its so much fun and has taken over everyday rider duties and long travels, so really I don't care where they are assembled, still a British icon and as all bike manufactures parts are source all over the world, so they aren't made in Thailand they are assembled there, but really I still love it same as my old Norton.
This pic was taken the first day I got it home.

That competition green is the best colour ever put on a Motorcycle.
In 2016 it wasn't available on the R.
I had a choice of Red or Silver metallic.
Both are nice " runner up" colours.

Yes the green is outstanding and for over a year I walked past this bike in the show room to get oil filters and other bits from the dealer for my 900 Thruxton, had no intension to buy a new Thruxton at the time but decided to take one for a test ride, took a R model for a test ride and loved it but felt the sport suspension was a bit harsh for long travel and the S model would be better suited for long miles in the saddle + the deal and huge savings over the new R model was good but I got a bit cheeky and asked the salesman for todays price, he went and talked to the manager and they dropped another $1K off the already large reduced price a saving of over $3.5K over the R model + with the fairing kit fitted how could I resist the temptation and put a down deposit straight down and picked it up 3 days later without telling the wife, she found out when she had to take me to the dealers to pick it up, this was the second new Thruxton I bought from this dealers since 2013 so they have been looking after me.
Here is a pic with the open stock mufflers and saddle bag supports I made for my throw over leather saddle bags and rack on the back with bag, haven't fitted the Ikon's on it before this pic was taken.

So what are you going to call the new Triumph 400 made in India by Bajaj? I have asked about a test ride when the demo bikes arrive but have been told that I am too old.

Or maybe the "Baja bhaji" or "thaiumpth tikka" ?
Ok ok I'll get me coat !

Hi all. Just happened on this Triumph forum as I have one, after usually perusing the Commando section, one of which I have too. Not bragging just saying but what caught my attention was talk of the competition green finish on Ashley’s Thruxton, that looks great. My ‘99 Thunderbird Sport is finished in a very similar color along with other mods, by a po. So fwiw, here’s a pic.
Any comment welcomed, I’m pretty much in the dark about its history.
TIA Steve

Well after 6 years of ownership with my 2016 Thruxton S it's still going as good as the day I brought it have over 30k on it now and all I do is oil and filter changes regularly and chain lube, as well tyres, still haven't touched the valves yet and I wouldn't have any problems jumping on it and do a 15hr run up to Townsville a 1500 km ride only stopping for fuel, food and pee stops, have done this run 2 x now 15hr run on the piss for 2 day then run back home, after retiring my bikes are no longer everyday riders but the Thruxton is well used and the Norton is semi retire but ridden regularly.
The modern Triumphs have got it all down pat for reliability and remember the new models aren't the same old Triumphs of days gone by.
And my Triumph still looks as good as the day I brought it home, hasn't missed a beat and have only recently replace the battery after 5 years use.
Was out on it last weekend and riding in rain so need to give it a quick clean, should have done it when I got home but after a full day riding.
