Quick question it may be a dumb one. I have a 1970 s type I just put new tires on but has a fiberglass tank. Its sealed and great but original so needless to say without planning an ethanol free ride it doesnt go super far. My 1972 roadster(which is my frequent rider) has a ever so slight wheel hop at high speeds. It has a tiny bend in the rim... Even though its true. I dont want to buy a new rim and spoke a wheel so my question is..... Are they completely the same? As far as I can tell they are. My s type I am keeping completely accurate to the highest degree so I do not want to put an inaccurate part on it. Both are original rims in excellent shape by the way. Aside from the smallest and I mean small flaw in the one. Took months to find the bump in it. But what do you all think? Any differences in a 1970 s type rim and hub to a 1972 roadster?
Thank you as always the s type wouldnt be this far along if it were not for you all! Attaching a photo of the bikes!
Thanks Wesley

Sounds like wheels weren’t properly balanced after fitting new tyres ?

It is amazing how many tyre shops seem to believe this isn’t necessary on motorcycles !

Even the tiniest out of concentric on your wheel rim will have some bearing on the handling of your motorcycle, the more out of round it is, the earlier the speed it will show up. Being a m/c it is more sensitive to these problems.

Yeah I agree!

I would have thought you would be more likely to get a vibration than a wheel hop at high speed.
