Is the noise normal or abnormal?


If unsure, continue to use and monitor the noise to see if it gets worse.


If it doesn’t, I wouldn’t worry about it.


But if it does, then it’s abnormal and could be many things, rockers, pushrods, cam followers, valve giudes, to name a few.


I’d suggest investing in one of these, it’s amazing what you can hear, and how accurately you can pinpoint the source of noises. After some practice it’s quite easy to identify normal / abnormal noises with one:
