When the MoT brake efficiency test was introduced some years ago my MoT tester at that time didn't have the expensive roller brake test equipment* so used the alternative hand winch with a pull gauge that required each axle weight to be taken in order to calculate efficiency of the brake.I remember my Mk3 Roadster certainly didn't weigh close to the "book" figure even allowing for some inaccuracy of the scales that I believe had to be checked for accuracy.*For our non-UK members who might not know what the UK MoT brake test involves (although 40-year-old 'Historic' tax class vehicles are now mainly exempt from the MoT test}.[MEDIA=youtube]ObciKDizNrs[/MEDIA]
