Just a small point but could you be restricting the air flow a wee bit.
Air entering fins at the wrong angle.

Could be, at least in theory, but I doubt it. Air flow is pretty turbulent there anyhow. In any case, I doubt such a small change in angle could have a significant effect. And the alternative is to have my nice, shiny CF fender bashing into it:(.

Hi Ken,
speaking of alternatives .... is it possible to fit a larger front mudguard to the 961 without interference problems? Anyone living in wet coastal areas might be far from satisfied by the short mudguard fitted by the factory? Sorry for off-topic question.

It’s a fair question Knut, the stock one looks very pretty... but catches naff all road grime...!

The engine catches it all instead...
 
That is a good question. But I don't have an answer. I have seen some alternative fenders available for the Ohlins superbike front forks, but I don't know if they are any better, or if they will fit the 961.
