Started my journey to the dealer the other day and no speedo function. As I moved off no speed was indicated and the neutral light was flashing constantly. The words ‘Warn’ and “Display’ (I think) flashed up on the display intermittently. Engine running normally.

I shut off and restarted the bike twice. Same result. I then pressed the central display button once and the digital function cut back in. The speedo then started working. Did’nt repeat itself thereafter.

Any ideas guys? I intend to inform my dealer and keep an eye on it. Warranty runs out in June this year.

Thanks

Steve

Speedo gremlins are not unknown, several, including mine, have been replaced under warranty. Have it replaced.

Also a “ patch lead “ is an update, some sought of little resistor connected accross a couple of connections which is a simple plug in job inside the headlamp, this has cured many I believe

The clue is in pressing the display button - this basically earths a circuit to change a display, so it sounds like it has shorted or stuck at some point and confused the speedo.

Ask the dealer to unplug the connector and silicone grease the terminals to protect from moisture. If the neutral light is flashing, then there is a patch available - the dealer can sort that.

I've had that happen to my digital display, speedo not involved. Happens when my battery is a little weak. Factory said it was the display switch. Changed my battery 3 years ago and it hasn't happened, except for one time when the batter charger became unplugged for a few weeks. Then again....my bike is "special".

Thanks guys, appreciate your feedback.

Rob, great advice also. Thanks for that. I will speak with my dealer and get him to arrange for this to be done at the next service.

Best regards.
