Recently I asked this forum for names of preferred engine builders and it was suggested that a list be made available for the Norton community. Here is a new list of Norton experts:

A lot of customers helped me compile this list. I'm hoping to add more mechanics. Especially those who are familiar with installing JSMotorsport products. Contact me with your suggestions. (PM) or send email to:

Is Leo at Memphis Motorwerks not doing it any more? Or maybe he just does small things. I was happy with the rebuild he did on my head.

Leo is still doing top quality work. Jim

Just want to add that I had very good luck with John Stephens in northern New Jersey. He wrenched (wrenches?) a Norton single for someone that always looked well sorted when I visited him. He did my motor in around 2003. While I've "only" done about 2,500 miles, she is still running flawlessly - last summer at the North Carolina rally we did over 1,000 miles (hats off again to everyone who organized that great week!).

Unfortunately, the son's bike, built by the wrench shop in upstate Vermont failed miserably. While changing the oil post-ride, there was enough metal bits 'n pieces to melt down and build a new cam... So that one's off for the season and likely headed to John for a redo.

I think this might have been a hit list for his bogus fishing emails!!!!!

Did I cock up again ?? I did not see any in the UK......Mind you some of the prices I hear SOME of the people in the UK charge....... I would recommend one Gentleman in Birmingham who does not 'screw' customers but he is always very busy and I get the impression he does not need extra work as he always answers his phone even on Sundays UNLESS he has gone to Spain for a GP or jumped into his plane and gone to the I.O.M for the day to watch a TT.....

Thanks for the recommendation JM. So informative as usual. I'll bet the name and phone number are there somewhere...just can't seem to find them.
