Hello
I just found out about this site and wanted to connect with the Norton folks about my stolen parts. Last month I had a 1962 Dodge Lancer Station Wagon stolen in my car trailer in Duncanville Texas. That is Dallas Forth Worth area. In the car were my Norton Tank and SIde Covers. I had gotten them painted and had them wrapped to keep them safe. 1973 850 steel tank and side covers. They were painted Nissan Black,With Red Letters, Red Pin Striped as original and all clear coated. No gas cap or pit cocks. If they show up for sale, I would appreciate a heads up to try and recover them. There is a police report on file and I can ID them from some small details. Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks

Sorry to hear that. I'm over 400 miles away, so it's not all that likely, but you never know.

I'd contact Kieth at Big D STRAIGHT AWAY and give them a heads up.

This is quite an old post, but since my new tank and side covers are in paint shop jail, LONG STORY, I am still looking for these stolen parts from 2011. Black tank, red decals and pin stripes. Pretty different. If anyone has seen or has these parts please let me know. Thanks Stan! Dallas Fort Worth Texas

Someone who doesn't give up!

I will be going to the swap meet at Texas Motor Speedway the end of the month. I will keep my eyes open for them, you never can tell what will pop up.

And if there are some there - in a different paint scheme by now - what do you do then ?
Someone prepared to steal autos is probably just going to discard them ?
If they didn't even find the car...

Sad as it is, its time to move on.
I've known of someone who lost the crankcases for something fairly old and unusual, same circumstances.
With a fair bit of searching, he found another set, all is now good again.

Never keep stuff in your car, especially if you need it !?

No I have moved on. But the tank and covers were so nice, no way they chucked them. They put them somewhere and one day they might show up. The wagon came back so I am hoping that one day the tank shows up too.

Police report still on file with the photos. Still missing one car and a ton of parts. If I find them, I will let the police take care of it.
Thanks!
