So I took everyone's advice, when replacing my stator, about the coke can trick. Unfortunately at one point in the rotation there's only 0.06mm clearance! and I can't shift the stator now the epoxy has set.

anyone have any experience running with less clearance?

Many thanks,

Matt

Well epoxy is machinable you did use some release agent on the studs right? Pull the stator, and have a bit skimmed off? Buy a new stator (Sparx) They are just a bit smaller and the new magnet will help just bought one 100.00.
Buy the way I use a milk jug not an alum pop can...

Definitely do not run the bike with less than the stated clearance (0.008 to 0.010 inches) or you will destroy your primary and possibly bend your mainshaft
