States' Rights? Trump to Ban California from Making Its Own Laws

Blooming heck Danno, this person has so many faults you begin to wonder how a Psychiatric Doctor would assess his mental health – they would probably end up going round the bend themselves!

"Who, really, is Donald Trump? What’s behind the actor’s mask? I can discern little more than narcissistic motivations and a complementary personal narrative about winning at any cost. It is as if Trump has invested so much of himself in developing and refining his socially dominant role that he has nothing left over to create a meaningful story for his life, or for the nation. It is always Donald Trump playing Donald Trump, fighting to win, but never knowing why."

"Mr. Trump’s speech and actions demonstrate an inability to tolerate views different from his own, leading to rage reactions. His words and behavior suggest a profound inability to empathize. Individuals with these traits distort reality to suit their psychological state, attacking facts and those who convey them (journalists, scientists).

In a powerful leader, these attacks are likely to increase, as his personal myth of greatness appears to be confirmed. We believe that the grave emotional instability indicated by Mr. Trump’s speech and actions makes him incapable of serving safely as president."

Ha ha Pete, Absolutely if you want to say you don't like a person and back it up with ideas and facts, that's a respectable. As I said, posting these Trump topics with a link to an anti Trump article (or website like huff post) isn't a discussion, nor does it expose the poster to any scrutiny of his own words, facts, or philosophy. He spreads the allegations someone else makes and has immunity from the dilligence required to actually make serious accusations...

That's why much of the shit about Trump always starts out as "unverified sources say..." It gets a narrative started. Maybe later, some bias news source has to come up with a verification, but maybe these stories help to get a fishing expedition started (Mueller probe) before their fake data is exposed.

It's obvious to me which side of the aisle the corruption in the american government is on... Needless to say, I do a lot of reading and could go on (and have) quite a bit...

WTBS, we need some better pictures of your bike, and I wonder how did your first summer riding it go?

Frank,
The bike is an absolutely beautiful machine, unlike anything I have ever ridden. A joy to ride and gaze upon. It leaks expensive oil and doesn't like stoplight to stoplight, but neither do I. Only one speeding ticket so far, most people don't know what to make of it.

I will say, and this is relevant to other conversations we have had here. Whenever I pull into a parking lot there is usually a gang of kids on bikes popping wheelies and messing around. And let me tell you, they fucking LOVE motorcycles. Its really great when the shy kid in the back of the pack comes up to twist the throttle. The thrill is there, it's in the blood and it ain't going nowhere.

We are all yelling into the ether. It's fun.
I don't expect to change minds but it's fun to talk and hear another opinion. You should hear how I talk at work.

Just men bullshitting. Nothing new. Just sounding off.

It may appear to you as just men bullshitting, but when someone comes along and puts words into your mouth on something you never said in the first place and won’t own up to this fact – you get to realise what kind of bulls****r this person really is! He should be a politics he would be right at home!

What I do not understand about Donald Trump is his tone of voice when he is delivering a speech. It goes up and down randomly. It is not even as though he is reciting something which was prepared for him. Usually you can read a politician by their tone of voice and their body language. With Trump, that is impossible - you never know what he is really about. It might be that he is an absolute nutter or he could be doing that voice thing deliberately, so that he is unpredictable.

I'm not swimming in this cesspool but to say the 'fed gov't. really learned a lesson there'. No matter the cost in lives to both sides it doesn't quit. Cali is long overdue for a big spanking by fed daddy for being naughty. You can't expect your allowance unless you do your chores & follow house rules.

Careful not to spank the golden goose. The name is California. Cali is a cartel in SouthAmerica.

Trump is a self taught speaker as he is a self taught Twitter user and businessman who has gone bankrupt once, and still he keeps bouncing back! This is not a political comment, I'm just saying. . .

I got news for you Danno, Biden has already stuck his own head in that noose. If you ever see the video of him saying that he told the Ukrainians that they weren't getting the american government aid money they were promised unless they fired a prosecuter within 36 hours because the prosecuter was investigating the company Biden's son works for, then you should see it. It's the best kind of evidence, self incrimination.

As I've said many times Trump isn't a "great guy", nor a regular Joe type, but I think he saw what a mess liberals were making this country into and decided to run for president. I do think in his case it's very much a big ego that motivates him, but I think on many policies, his position is more realistic than the liberal positions, especially since the democrats have swung so far left. I do think Trump's main motivation to do well for the country is for his own ego, so he can go down in history as a "great president". We would all probably want a person who is president who had the more altruistic motivations of a Jimmy Carter type, but we don't. We have Trump who's certainly a character.

I don't know if you notice, but I don't call anyone I disagree with names. I only discuss whether they are right or wrong, and the fact surrounding an issue. If you need to show your hate, then I think you've lost your objectivity.

I don't hate you due to your defending Trump (and probably voting for him.) My racer buddy has a theory; It's the zombie apocalypse-otherwise normal people behaving as if brain-dead.

Saying Trump isn't a "great guy" is like saying Kim-Jong Fathead has bad taste in basketball players. Trump is a crooked, sexist, racist, misogynist, liar with an ego the size of Jupiter and a skin as thin as an onion. Oh and did I mention uneducated, uncultured and incompetent? It's bad enough when people like him use their power and money to screw anyone they can, but when all the zombies voted him into office, he became much less amusing and much more ominous. What he's done to the office of The Presidency should be enough to make ANY good American hate him, much less all his acts of self-indulgence. I hope his supporters wives and daughters get caught in an elevator with him.

And the worst part is, he and his supporters think he's been annointed by God. Nikki Haley, Rick Perry, Mike Pence and other hypocritical zombies think being elected is a sign that God wants you in office.
I don't think God is registered to vote in the US. And if He's voting, He better be careful or He'll end up in prison with that woman from Texas who voted illegally.

Who was it said something to the effect that the only thing more dangerous than someone in a position of power is someone who thinks God put them there.

How many facts do you need? He was screwing a pornstar ( whom he paid to shut up) while his current wife was pregnant. He isn't lying unless his lips are moving. He's like the Black Knight in Monty Python and the holy Grail; The truth keeps hacking off limbs and he remains in total denial.

The sky is going to be clear with temps near 70 today so I should be expecting to have a nice ride, and the most amazing thing about it is that it's got nothing to do with any politics..... Merry Christmas guys!

I'm hoping to add Germany to countries ridden in. Nice temps in the 40s and no rain at present, sorry it won't be a Norton unless anyone is around east Germany (Pressath/Weiden)

The answer is simple: Vote in November.

In my opinion, the voters of 2016 were weary of being forced into electing the typical homogenized, pressed and formed partisan politicians both parties had been spoon feeding them for decades.

Trump was a breath of new air—please note; I did not say “fresh” air. Prior to the election, he made it very clear who and what he was/is, and he still won. For 2020, look at the group of hopefuls the DNC is parading in front of us today--more of the status quo. For other than die-hard democrat voters, there isn’t a viable candidate in the bunch. This group will almost guarantee Donald will win again.

If Australian federal politicians attacked states' rights, that would immediately turn into a constitutional crisis. Is the American constitution very different ? - Perhaps America needs Queen Elizabeth to make sure that nobody becomes a dictator ?

MY problem is that I am secretly glad to see Trump stand up to China. Somebody had to do it. That is not to say that I would vote for the dangerous idiot.
Any form of authoritarianism other than that achieved through the vote, should be resisted. The highest level in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is 'self-actualisation' - democracy !

I hate to admit it, but he just might. I saw a Republican pundit say this morning that impeachment has "galvanized" his base, but a current poll indicates the majority of Americans support his conviction and removal. His toadies in the Senate will never vote against him and he'll claim "victory" even if he's one vote short of removal. James Comey came out against impeachment/removal because he says it lets the American voters off the hook for putting the clown in office in the first place.

The guy used our tax dollars to throw a Christmas party at his own resort. And that's just the latest shitty thing he's done...

You get two choices when you vote in the USA. You know who the last two were. Most of the time people vote against the one they dislike more.
I sort of find it amusing to note that each side thinks the other side is Sayton's choice if not Sayton hisself.
Perhaps you noted something similar a few days ago here?
...and oh yeah....Happy Boxing Day, now go bolt those prezzies onto the Norton.
