Starting 71 rebuild

starting to think about the reassembly of the complete bike.
I would like some ideas on how to proceed on this ?
what major parts should go together in what order first?
this bike is completely stripped down to the bare frame.

All I did was put the engine and gearbox in the cradle, on its side on a soft surface on the floor. (with the front Isolastic mount removed)
Lowered the frame over it, front Iso installed then both Iso fasteners and up on the bench.
That's a pretty big lump quickly.

Did mine the same way, in the extra bedroom. Put it on a small lift and finished the bike in there. Then rolled it down the hallway without the handlebars on, thru the kitchen and down the stairs to the backyard. Everyone thought I was crazy as the hardwood floors had just been refinished, didn't put a scratch in them.

Go to the older threads with completed projects, and "rewind".

I personally get to rolling chassis first, then transmission, then power unit with cylinders & pistons installed, then the head, then the primary.

I'm 63 and I can still handle the power unit along with no fuss (well, I still could before the broken leg, might be a bit of fuss now)

I pretty much did it that way. I put the engine+head in whole with front ISO and an extra pair of hands, primary later.

If I was alone, I would pretty much do it the Norton OEM way - engine+head+priimary+cradle+tranny as one lump.

It's very easy that way, and the frame is very light and easy to lay over the whole assembly. No chips scratches or dings.

more done .
transmission and engine apart . Some parts vapor blasted .
trans parts are here now .
need to order engine parts after the case is split

I started to wonder how they get the get the swingarm installed, then realized you just install the left side welch plug and install from the right side...

How did the cam lobes and follower faces look? DO NOT MIX THEM UP, and make sure they go back in facing the exact same way.

SERVICE SHOP , need to get some machining done.
