dear All,
recently I realized that my pipes are badly cracking and I am seriously thinking to replace them..
actually, some time ago I got a pair of stainless steel seamless mufflers, which were discounted on ebay, but I kept them for better days.. perhaps these already came!
then, I was thinking on purchasing a set of pipes, at this point in stainless steel, in order to match the new mufflers I already have..
is there anyone who may suggest on where to purchase them?
Thank you!

Epco makes them. I have a set on an airhead BMW and like them a lot. I have Wassells on my Norton and like them too; but if I had it to do again I'd go with the Epcos.

I have heard horror stories about Epco waiting times and non-responsiveness to inquiries as to shipment status. I had no such problems myself.

thank you Briank..
I tried to google for Epco, but unfortunately I could not find their website.. do you have any address to contact them?

I don't recall how much i paid for them but after ordering sets from Ebay, Epco, Fairspares and Commando Specialties these have been the best fit.

I heard also there's a special coating to prevent the 'blueing' of the pipes (that in case of the stainless steel is 'oranging'.. which is not so nice!)
anyone has experienced it and can give me a suggestion on what to look at?

SS turns a golden color when it heat-ages; looks really regal, IMHO, no coating involved.

Hi,

The header pipe that I use is in fact the one that is offered by Rabers Parts Mart. Its their own design and due to using the conical seat and split ring (that you find on the MKIII's) it does make them easier to fine adjust than one with a flat end going into the head.

It is however a Chrome pipe.

Remember to get the seat and split ring if you get them since they cant be installed without.

I don't want to go into negative stuff about Epco, we have all been down that road, but FYI Epco doesn't really make them. It's another company and I have the direct # at home & will post it later. I have for the last year been trying to get Epco to send a set of mufflers back ( I kept the 2nd set) and finaly found the "real" manufacture & he is taking care of it. He said Tom (Epco) is a distributer but in his own words doesn't follow through with taking and sending out orders & is difficult to do Biz with.

I got my SS roadster pipes & mufflers from Armours in England. Yes the eventually cracked at the flange, but where stainless shines is that I machined stainless spigots and heliarced them on and never looked back. You can rebuff the yellow tint off to almost like new appearance.

Now looking for SS pipes/mufflers for my 1952 Model 7.

I see your located in Canada and Rome, so if your in Ottawa right now; I know that Walridge offers SS pipes, maybe give them a call I think they even offer free shipping to Canada. And they're in Ontario too so the wait time should be short.

I need to clairify my 1st post & here is the info about what I have learned about why it "can" be difficult to get stuff through Epco. First I meant to say I have been trying for a year to get Tom (Epco) to send us the "calltag" he said he was sending so that we could return the 1st set of mufflers I got that in my opinion were not up to what they should be. 100 phone calls later he still has not followed through. I did however find a address & # on the box witch led me to a man named Shareff & the company name "Stainless Ride Distributers". They (he) said they are the true manufactures & Epco buys from them & re-selss the stuff but is totaly unrealiable in taking & putting out orders. So for what it's worth. This is what I bealieve to be the address & phone # for the true maker of the stainless pipes & mufflers. Shareff at Stainless ride distributers, 8121 South West 97th Street Miami Florida, U.S. 33156 phone # (937) 242-6089 I hope this helps some anyone who needs it. Btw. Shareff said he would send the return call tag so we could finaly return the mufflers I didn't like. As of today even that is 8 days over due so perhaps Shareff is related to Tom /Epco. ???
