Hi all,
My speedo cable busted. When I was going to replace the cable I discovered why the cable broke in the first place. My speedometer is seized 1st time for that kind of thing for me maybe someone can help me. I would like to remove the instrument from the holder without damaging the aluminum. I see the two nuts on the underside that secure the gauge in the holder. I am thinking the gauge comes out through the top and I need to remove the top piece with the glass to get the gauge out. Is this correct and if so.... is this a screw in part or push in. I have made a couple attempts to remove this piece with a strap wrench but I am not getting anywhere here. I thought maybe it is a press fit type thing I used a small brass drift and gave it a few love tapes but I'm not sure which way to go here I don't want to damage anything uncertain if its threaded or not maybe I'm going in the wrong direction to get this out. So if anyone can give me a heads up on this so I don't do any damage to machine or self I will thank you now.
