The Scitsu on my Honda racer gave false readings when pickup lead was close to an ignition coil. A 3 inch gap between coil and pickup wire solved the problem.I'd suggest copper core lead, no resister caps and BP7ES plugs based on using a magneto on Norton 500 twin engines.
If you do need an electronic tach then a Scitsu tach will work by attaching the pickup lead along a plug lead.
