Spanish Moto3 rider 14 year old Andreas Perez has passed away

Sadly, a 14-year-old youngster who was part of a crash involving multiple riders at Turn 5, and received medical attention on scene.

He was subsequently airlifted to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. "Andreas Perez was admitted to hospital with very serious brain damage and soon afterwards he was diagnosed with brain death," said his Avintia Academy team in a statement.
Is it just me in thinking that they are too young to be racing motorcycles at that level?

A kid of that age would not have very good risk perception. That might be the attraction in having them in a race team. It is like the OHS issue in workplaces - it is easier to make a profit if you are prepared to have people die when pursuing it. That is the reason Australia cannot compete with Chinese manufacturers. The playing field is not level.
