My fuel gauge started flashing steadily for the first time so I opened the headlight bucket and just spaced the wires out a little. That actually stopped it from flashing. However, a appx. 1 inch long by about 1/8 diameter brass tube just rolled out when I removed the headlight. Not sure of what it is. Was it a tube that the screw goes through to prevent over tightening? A spacer of some sort. I just left it out for the time being until one of you can give me an answer. Thanks.

Do you have any pictures of this tube? I can't remember to have seen such a part in the headlight of my bike...

I hot glue them in so they don't fall out. Check out my LIGHT BULBS manual. PG1

"Don’t lose this spacer; it will probably fall onto the ground during removal TIP: To prevent this from falling out the next time you take it apart, remove and fill this sleeve with hot glue and quickly reassemble the screw back in until it holds" That's what I thought it was, Richard7. Just wasn't sure if it was that screw or the adjusting screw. Thank you very much. ......and that's EXACTLY what happened. LOL :?
