On my A10 from memory it has a split pin to stop the nut from coming off but nothing to actually keep the nut tight, so I see what you mean,There's no effective locking on the standard crankshaft nut securing this and they have a habit of coming loose. I've fitted a SRM nut which has a hexagon drive so I can apply a good bit of welly to tighten it but you never know even with loctite.
I made a tool to fit the crankshaft nut with a 1/2" socket welded to it ,I tighten this with an air spanner to make sure it's tight
