Who sells the most correct original thin type decals?

The ones on my original tank and side covers are very thin, must have been water-slide type.

Anyone know for sure?

Where can I find this type?

Bob & Marcia Derrick - U.K. based Classic Transfers . If anyone has them they will

They weren't waterslide. They were stick-on with a very thin clear backing. Mine were falling off by the first month and replacements were difficult to put on for me. They needed to be stretched to go on the curved tank without creasing. Also fingerprints would show. The die-cut ones came out around the same time as the 850s.

I agree. I bought a near new ‘72 combat roadster in ‘73. The tank decals were already flaking and were very thick. Bob Raber gave me two sets of the original type a few years ago. Probably the last ones on the planet. He said they came from a close shop in Kuwait. Very stiff and hard to apply. The newer vinyl type are much nicer.

lots of discussion about these over the years, as an example;

I think I still have a very dated set of the original decals in shed , back when I had tank & side covers refinished I opted for the newer type , made for a very nice job .

I am restoring a '70 Royal Blue Fastback and need black with gold outline decals for the tank, like the attached bike. The bike in the photo has silver side covers which look to have all black lettering but I believe mine may have had gold with black outline? Difficult to tell because my side covers are faded badly.

Apologies for tagging on this thread. Has anyone found red colored Norton and 850 Commando tank and side cover decals?

Maybe here. (same place Gortnipper linked to recently)

Above pic shows black lettering on silver side covers but I am unsure if it was plain black or black with gold outline.

I am going with black and gold outline. Believe that is what these decals were.

Anyone know if this plastic fastener is still available?
