Wow! There's a use for my two Avon New Gripsters that hang on a saddle rack in the tack room. But clearly, there's a lot more that goes into ice tires than just screwing metal roofing screws into a knobby. I remember pictures of ice racing where the front tires had a cage out in front to protect anyone or dog or ice-fishing hut.Here it hasn't been above 15deg F for over a week. Now we just need somebody to plow the lake so the snow won't insulate the ice. I haven't been up to see if there are ice huts out yet but there will be. Winter came early this year.
