I'm finally prepared to assemble my gearbox. Is it necessary to use some sort of sealant around the perimeter of the sleeve gear seal? The seal I have from AN has a metal cup. I was thinking of using a bit of blue Loctite as a sealant if needed. Otherwise I will have to make a trip to the store before proceeding.

It should be a fairly snug fit so i would not suspect much in the way of a leak .. I just did mine about two weeks ago and it went in with a light film of oil and a few friendly raps with a large rubber hammer .

Threebond #4.

ALSO, generously coat the properly degreased splines, both I.D. end both ends of the spacer behind the sprocket, as well as the sprocket splines. That designed in leak path is stopped completely.
JMWO.
