Hey guys, I've had such good luck with silicone engine gaskets, especially the primary chain case, I was wondering if anyone made silicone gearbox gaskets?

Understood and I have a set from him for rocker covers. Still seem quite thick, pliant compared to standard. Also seem like an answer in search of a problem for gb/timing cover in my opinion.Tornado,
JS are glass fiber-reinforced and are thinner than the ones you are referring to.

I question your statement."Still seem quite thick, pliant compared to standard."
The silicone gaskets I use on the rocker covers have been on there for years. I just follow the instructions to wash them in soap and water after every removal.Never had a problemUnderstood and I have a set from him for rocker covers. It would be good if the made them in a Grey colour....the orange reminds me of that silicone engine sealer that some folk used to use...im happy with the old copper coat ...once the edges are trimmed offSilicone is soft, pliable and has good heat resistance.
Those are the good properties.
It is also easily abraded, torn and TOO soft.
Spark plug wires and hoses require special routing, handling, etc.
i've had no problems with conventional gaskets sealing, disassembly or re-using when it's apropriate.
The orange rubber part lines JUMP OUT visually like a sore thumb.

I tried the JSM ones, I didn't like them when it came to re-use. Prefer AN and to keep some stock. Planned replacement, you know you will!Silicone is soft, pliable and has good heat resistance.
