Hey guys, I've had such good luck with silicone engine gaskets, especially the primary chain case, I was wondering if anyone made silicone gearbox gaskets?

The standard type work well for gb. I'd be a little concerned using the squishy silicone type where the cases need a particular torque and stability for stresses applied while operating. The silicone type I have on rocker box covers and spindle covers had instructions to only torque until they start to squash a bit. Anymore and you risk it shifting out of position or tearing.

Tornado,
JS are glass fiber-reinforced and are thinner than the ones you are referring to.
Understood and I have a set from him for rocker covers. Still seem quite thick, pliant compared to standard. Also seem like an answer in search of a problem for gb/timing cover in my opinion.

"Still seem quite thick, pliant compared to standard."
I question your statement.
I have a number of sets from J.S. as well. Some not even installed on a rebuild yet.
Andover Norton paper rocker cover gaskets (new) measure 0.0335" thick.

J.S glass fiber gaskets are measuring 0.0315" and they can be reused like Icrken stated.
JS even states they ar 1/32" thick. What does that work out in decimal?

Silicone is soft, pliable and has good heat resistance.
Those are the good properties.
It is also easily abraded, torn and TOO soft.
Spark plug wires and hoses require special routing, handling, etc.
i've had no problems with conventional gaskets sealing, disassembly or re-using when it's apropriate.
The orange rubber part lines JUMP OUT visually like a sore thumb.

The silicone gaskets I use on the rocker covers have been on there for years. I just follow the instructions to wash them in soap and water after every removal.Never had a problem

It would be good if the made them in a Grey colour....the orange reminds me of that silicone engine sealer that some folk used to use...im happy with the old copper coat ...once the edges are trimmed off

I tried the JSM ones, I didn't like them when it came to re-use. Prefer AN and to keep some stock. Planned replacement, you know you will!

Each to his own.
