My thoughts exactly, Well Actually I was Thinking more of the Isolastic system not lending itself to the added stresses/loading very well, but Baz has more first hand knowledge of this than I. What also comes to mind are all of the photos posted by members here, of where "hi-way" forward foot pegs were mounted on the double down tubes with clamps or "U" bolts back in the 70's and the dents and damage caused by them.
