Short or Long Silencers

The stock pipes are indeed long, you’re quite right there... but peashooters they are not! The long factory pipes do not look ANYTHING like the original peashooters !

The closest to the peashooter that I’ve seen is the Thiel Motorsport pipes I’ve shown above.

All jesting aside, the Thiel pipes are actually somewhere between the shorties and longies in terms of overall length. They sound fabulous (even Rob and Paul at the factory said so unprompted). And they just look right.

Highly recommend.
A man of compromise to keep the peace. Those are magnificent and belong on that sexy assed Commando.

Personally I don’t like the way the reverse cone is slightly angled down, but ‘to each his own’.

Harrison Performance certainly seem to know their stuff!

They don’t seem to have a web site, are they one of those that assume everyone is on Faceache?

Can anyone tell me where they are located?

Yeah, the bent reverse cone looks, well, bent and a bit strange.
I prefer the traditional reverse cone look.
The Thiel silencers have a very nice slender proportion to them as well, like my SBN units.
The reverse cones have a higher, peakier (if that's a word) aspect ratio that does more closely match the old original classic Norton peashooters.

Have to agree that the size of the longs is larger than the original peashooters but proportionally they are about right.
The nearest I have seen to the originals were made by Cycleworks in NZ for I think member Kiwi961 who has now sold. You can see a picture of them on their website.
As far as the Thiels go, I would appreciate seeing a full side on photo of the bike with them fitted. The Thiel website and your own photos FE don’t quite capture the proportions.
Of course, it would be even better to see them in the flesh when we can meet at one of the gatherings later this year for a bit more banter.
The Thiels certainly seem to be the only ready made solution currently for track days so I am interested.

Roger that Roger.

Yes we should meet up, but we’ll need to ensure it’s somewhere with a big car park if the long pipe chapter is coming... need space for yer pipes...!

Enough of this this wishy-washy Liberalism John - these are are just simply the best looking and sounding pipes for this bike!!!

Hmmm, and here was me thinking this would be a short conversation...
