I feel your pain Greg. It was 5 1/2 weeks till I picked the bike up
In the final analysis, you couldn't pay me to use HaulBikes! The bike was finally picked up today. They have no rails, pallets, or anything special to haul bikes. They don't even have ratchet straps. The bike was put in the truck sideways and tied down with four 1" canvas straps to the floor. He will deliver it to their terminal in PA where it will be in a warehouse until they have a truck going to Los Vegas. It will be loaded again and taken there and put in a warehouse until they have a truck going to a warehouse in CA where it will be stored until they have a truck going near the buyer. The bike was spotless and not a nick anywhere - seems unlikely to arrive that way!I take a dim view of companies who contract to do something and then don't do it. I couldn't care less what excuse they have - don't make the deal if you cannot deliver and REALLY don't leave your customers in the dark! Therefore, I now take a dim view of haulbikes.
The guy who bought the bike from me signed with them 4/19/21. They said pickup between Apr 30 and May 15. He's heard nothing and can't even get them on the phone to give a new estimate. Fortunately, I don't mind the bike sitting here. Often, sellers won't allow that or will charge storage fees. It is a little costly since I have to keep it insured until it gets to him incase of fire or theft.
I understand that others are happy with them and this is my only experience with them - this will be my only experience with them!
