Sell or keep. Why do I keep changing my mind!

Considering I have an Indian dealership only a few miles from home, its a mass produced AND a spectular bike, selling well, its not going to garner that exclusivity attention as the Norton in these parts. They have quite a few demo days. I should go take one for a whirl. I wish you well with yours.

Richard, It was seeing your Indian (est. 1901) in 'the cave' that got me wandering around the internet lusting after something! Yes, my 961 is No.1 so at the moment will be the last bike I part with, although I've probably said that about every bike i've ever owned :)

WR... your mudguards seem to have fallen off !

And this from the guy who gave me grief about my reflector removal habit !!

I think you will find they are called fenders. No reflectors or indicators either other than the oberon bar ends. It was a custom job at moore speed racing. Come mot time Oct 20, may have to apply lots of reflectors back on to pass, may ask to borrow yours. This is a serious fair weather machine, any patch of water on the road and the front wheel gives you a mouthfull.

I have reflectors available for hire...

No ‘fenders’ though.

We don’t do ‘fenders’ in Oxford...

My Indian (established since 1901) is I have to say a very enjoyable ride. The engine is very smooth and with 78 hp, it has some reasonable grunt but best between 60-70mph, any more and it's hard work. Sounds great but not a patch on the 961 for its audible delight. So I am enjoying it and I have to say, gettimg more comments from strangers than the Norton. But it's number 2 for me.

You don’t need to tell me the norton is No.1. Look at where you’ve parked the comfy chair, right in front of the 961!

I put my Guzzi for sale on FB Marketplace on the 25th, had two responses and today it has gone and money in the bank. It doesn't take long to sell and I can now concentrate 100% on the next purchase :)

You obviously priced it competitively- or more accurately- realistically. Thought you might have offered Guzzi plus HD for an Indian at KH!
Happy hunting

Al, Accnor,
Have you thought about asking Norton if they are interested? Clem said they often bought back special edition bikes at Donnington.
Al, you have a superlight coming so worth a punt?

I did speak to Clem about it but then he left. It’s a good shout though.... if anyone wants a genuine one off 961 this is it. It was given away by the NMM in 2015. You won’t see another cowl like this and was valued at £18k + with the extras

I think given this uniqueness it’ll be a great buy.

I wish... I had to pay pound notes for it unfortunately. I’m also not as handsome as the winner.

Well, pound notes is only money innit? You can always get some more of them.

But your looks? Well, you’re stuck with your lot there!!

How are the graphics on the rear cowl applied. Paint or decal?
They’re raised, like embossed. It’s lacquered over but to my eye it looks to be moulded in to the cowl and then painted. It looks like that, certainly doesn’t look like a sticker.

yes...when my bike was last serviced (before i'd ordered the superlight) clem mentioned they had ' a buyer ' who would buy my bike (on clems recommendation that it was exceptional) without even seeing it... the offer was reasonable but clem admitted they would ask about £2500 more for it than the offer... i still haven't really come to terms with selling it yet...that's why i have only half heartedly put it up for sale...its so good to ride and i get stomach ache thinkin about lifting the garage door and it not being there !... BUT if i get a decent offer, i WILL sell it....

Considering there are still new Anniversary bikes at dealers, perhaps it’s not far off?

If so, it begs the question; where are the ‘10 bikes a week’ going that we’ve been told they’re knocking out...?
I'm pretty sure Clem said, and also in one of Mr Garners interviews, that 80% of the current build go overseas.

The reality is that there are not many bikers with that kind of money to splash out cash and I don't accept credit nor do I offer any warranty, so the most likely buyer of a bike in the £10k+ bracket will be a dealer, they will want to make a profit AND cover there backs if something were to go wrong with the bike in the new owners hands. I personally wouldn't touch a bike in that price bracket without a substantial warranty so that usually means buying new, or buying from a dealer. I'm not even sure I would buy my own 961 for the sort of price that I would like to get for it, if you know what I mean :)

Went to Krazy Horse today, saw a fair few Commando's in the showroom, parked outside and a white Sport on the service ramp which apparently belongs to the H-D dealership owner over at Newmarket!!!

Welsh, the Krazy Horse Indian showroom is crazy full, couldn't swing a cat in there!
Clive, Krazy Horse are a Morgan dealership and I had to walk past approx. £1,000,000 worth of Morgans to get into the Indian showroom :)
John, on my drive out of Bury I passed a green 961 Sport heading towards KH, it looked pretty cool in the gleaming sunshine. Yours?

Nice weather tomorrow so having a ride to: https://www.nevillarms.co.uk/location for coffee and things. If you want to talk Indian turn up. I like the look of 120hp on that FTR, that would give some propulsion for sure. Ouch, thats 60miles. Must find another sunday morning eatery
