My newly acquired ‘74 Interstate has an original seat, but it’s missing the passenger seat strap. The mounting bolts are in place under the pan. A/N has them but won’t sell separate from a new seat cover Kit. Anyone know if a source?

Most any upholstery shop can make you one. Alternatively, I have seen them from time to time on EvilBay.

Universal ones are on Ebay, measure the length required as some are too short for Norton seats. You may need some metal inserts for the bolts to go through.

On my 73 Roadster I replaced the seat cover but couldn't get the seat strap, so I went to Goodwill and bought a leather belt. I cut off the buckles and drilled holes in it. Then I screwed it to the seat. Can't tell the difference.

I don't like sitting on a seat strap so I removed the strap from my new Andover Norton Interstate seat. You can have it for the cost of postage. It's not 100% like the original because it doesn't have metal grommets where the bolts are attached. They can be added later of course. PM me if you are interested.

I was of the opinion the seat strap was deleted after the ‘72 production in favor of the rear grab rail.
