Script is painted on. It will come off easily with a solvent. I did one about 20 years ago using a stencil and a can of spray paint.It worked fine, looked quite good and was durable. I am now of the opinion that the aged and faded script is more desirable thana tarted up new paint look. Having had regrets about over restoring bikes in the past, my advice is to own, ride and learn about yourbike for a couple of years before thinking about cosmetic upgrades.
