Because then you can use a larger intake valve without re-angling the intake guide.
The intake port will flow at a higher velocity with the stock angle than it will after re-angling it.

I really like the sound of that. Sounds like a win win to me. Also significantly reduces the rework if you need seats anyway.
 
Ive been following this thread and getting quite worried about seat recession and compression leakage.
On getting out of bed this morning it all came into perspective, the fear is gone .

The realization was- I have a receding hairline and considerable compression leakage, and yet I still feel quite good.

I think the bike is going to be OK too.

Hopefully you wont need a valve job...
