Had same pump attached to a 1970 Peugeot 10 speed I bought while in school ...bike came with it

1970 Peugeot 10 speed
I had one. Years later, long gone from pushbike world, I hefted a modern ten speed and was shocked to realize it weighed at LOT less!
How things change!

My brother's '70 had the "tangs" for the pump but the pump was long gone. So true about modern pedal bikes, lots of trickle down technology into even the cheapest department store bicycles.

it doubles the price of the bike when it is included...:)
Certainly not a double value for a pump!
My bike comes from USA but i bought at beginning of the ‘80 here at home from
a navy (here still based the VI Fleet USA NATO) that came back at home.
The tyres pump was on board but i cannot say if it is the stock one.
Ciao

Here are the pumps on my '68 Commando (Fastback) and '69 Commando 'S'. They are a little different from Piero's. Both have metal loop foot 'stand'. The '69 is the original according to my friend, who was the original owner for 48 years. The other I found in England. The only difference is the '69 is all metal where the one on the '69 has a plastic 'handle'.

I also have another that is about 1 1/2 inches shorter and will not fit between the frame lugs. Other than that is identical to these two.

Is there a hose that connects to the valve, you certainly couldn't put a pump with a valve right on the end into the stem? I remember something about a pump with a folding bracket to stand on, but that may have been some other bicycle pump I remember.

Sometimes I can even hardly get my stem located to put air in it given the spokes.

There is a hose that stores inside the pump. You pull it out and screw it into the bottom of the pump.
