I could use a recommendation on a good RTV that can be purchased from an Auto Zone locally. I need to pick up some oil, brake fluid etc and I need to find a good RTV sealant for my head gasket and primary to crankcase gasket.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Plio Bond glue , in a tube . for gaskets .
Copper Coat ( compound ) pressure sealing / anti sieze ( copper graphite ) for the head .
Sorry . I dont use silicone . tho im temted to for the alloy / alloy rocker cover on the car.
as I threw the gasket out. so the carb clears .The horrible brown shellacs not that good .

Be careful with that RTV on the head. I'd be leery of it. It can get in your oil lines. Hylomar blue racing formula better option if they have it. Expensive but good.

For silicone, I have had good success with Permatex Ultra Black or Ultra Blue. Not sure if the color has any bearing. I choose black when I can because it doesn't stick out.

Gaskacinch is a great product, I feel. I used it on my '58 Triumph Trophy rocker boxes, etc., for a leak-free assembly.

For alloy to alloy joints, Three-Bond 1104 has done me well.

With any of these, absolutely cleanliness of the jointing surfaces is imperative. They must be clean and absolutely oil free.

Ultra Black is the most oil resistant of all the RTV's Permatex offers.
