Hi,

1975 850 mk3: I'm missing a roll pin on my LH seat knob (which is for ornament only on a hinged seat mk3). I'm thinking of getting a pin, to avoid losing the knob. How do the roll pins fix into the knob, I can't see how they avoid sliding back out?

They are a press fit - friction keeps them in . If your pin seems loose spread it a bit at the seam.

The special tool isn't needed to fit the roll pin as any suitably sized punch or drift will do and a 3/32" punch to remove it.

I think I only need to remove it to get the rear shock off. Working fine at the moment...

You don't need to remove the knob to pull the shock bolt out, just remove the inner nut (and washer) and pull the bolt out with the knob attached.
