I'm replacing my 72 roadster glass tank with a 74 steel tank. The original glass tank mounts differently with large rubber ring & tabs on the rear.
With the steel tank I understand there are 2 steel cross bars (straps) front & rear that go under the top tube and bolt to the tank, is that correct?
If so I would assume I need to find the straps and imagine they would be specific to front/rear? Also need bushings, nuts and the foam pads that go between the tank and frame. Am i missing anything?

Appreciate any help, confirm, advice.

Thanks

Did the same here. Front is exactly the same as '72 but in the rear there is a metal strap with black foam rubber glued to it that goes under the frame tube. (I have an extra roadster one BTW.) The used tank I bought had lord mounts (muffler mounting rubbers) in the rear but the parts book shows studs, rubber washers and nuts like the front. I know some owners use the muffler mounts all around.
