Hi I just installed the head on my 74 commando interstate. everything went well push rods in correctly and valve clearance set. I have turned the motor over a few times by hand on the crankshaft nut just to check every thing out with the plugs out. The engine turns quite smoothly and evenly until the right exhaust valve opens As it opens the engine gets harder to turn and it almost feels like the right exhaust spring has a lot more tension than the other 3 I can hear a very light audible noise from the spring as it compresses. This doesn't seem normal to me. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks Drummer99

Hi I think so I thought of that as a possible cause. I will check it again

Any possibility an intake pushrod was placed in the exhaust spot?

You are in danger of having bent your valve whilst doing this...
