Maybe, but more belt slack starts skipping a tooth on kick starts. I could try going back to that mode again, but got a bee in my bonnet to try the TTi 5 speed. Might still back the belt off a flat or two.The symptom is pawl can't reliably find the rachet when the motor is running. Works perfectly on the bench. Spring has been adjusted 6 times and same thing. I'm at the insanity stage where doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is not working. Outer cover is off right now, and I'm about to pull the inner cover after I finish a cup of coffee.I suspect now that I have ordered the TTi gearbox, I'll get it to work perfectly. In my dreams.I do like the 4 speed AMC box when it works, but it has been a little problematic since 1972.
