Remap #90 experience

Hi Guys,

Map numbers ending in 90, 91 and 92 are for models that are not currently available in the USA. I have informed our US Dealer manager and he is contacting all the US dealers and clarifying that they have the correct information to hand.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Yet, we are getting reports from credible forum members that these maps are working better than anything we have seen. We have waited a long time for improvements and to get Norton involved with what could be it's most lucrative market (the US). Can you please explain why you would say these maps are not for the US market, and why you would stop the use of these maps when they are getting great reviews from trusted posters? I believe your non US models still have the same engine. If you have a better performance map available (and it seems you do) why not allow its use in the US.

Hello Brit Twit , Yes , I had the 91 tune installed this summer. I just thought I would chime in again to give others some insight.

And you are running decatted (or catted) Motad shorties if I remember correctly. Did the Chicago shop do this for you. And do they have a stock bike to do remaps if I sent my CPU's to them?

Hello again G81 , I just rode the bike down there and they installed the Motad Shorties and decat X-pipe that I ordered from K.H. (keep that confidential). They had a unsold 961 the last time I was there . You should call and ask about sending in your ECU's . MCC 630-782-2010

Just mailed my ECU from Houston to Bob at MCC service dept, he is going to remap for my Motad short pipes and decat pipe.

He did say that he just received a bulletin from Norton about the remaps they should be using but he had not had time to look at it. Maybe as Simon from Norton has advised, 2 maps, one for standard pipes and one for off-road pipes?

I have 77 on both of my bikes. with decatted aftermarket pipes. The thread discusses the new 90 and 91 maps, which seem to have appeared and then disappeared. According to several well respected posters, the 90's maps are considerably better in performance. There has been some back channel information that may outline the reason for pulling the 90's maps, but would like to hear from Donnington Hall on this.

And, I will be taking one of my 961's to the track next year, and would like to have the best map for performance. If Norton will not help maybe I can get it done through a independent tuner. Just when I thought Norton was here to help, the water gets muddy again

Hello G81 , Just let Bob (MCC) know you already have the 077 map and you want the 09X map for your track time bike. Maybe the 092 map is even better! They use the dyno to find the best one for your bike as it should be done . I hope Norton Factory keep the good maps coming .
