Got my Sport remapped today at 3090 miles. Upgraded from #77. Cold and hot start is superb! No gas, no stalling, hardly even has to turn over. Instant starts. LOVE THAT. No surging all. The idle has improved greatly. When the bike was hot, not due to weather, but after a good pounding, she would surge, sometimes idle at 22-2400 rpm. That was annoying as all get out. I ran up to 115 mph a few times for a minute and cruised close to 80 all day long. The worst was idle at 1400 until she caught her breath. Right back down to 1150. Acceleration was very torquey and smooth. The bike felt "eager"...like a young horse on a cold day. She just wanted to run. Now the "not so great" news (which aint horrible either). You know that quirky little vibe from 4300-4700rpm? Still there, just not as rough. Its also at 3800, and 5200. Its a little buzzy. Can feel it in the foot pegs. Again, not as rough as before, but more spots. Overall, it could have been better, but I am really satisfied with the starting, idling and surging issues. Starting was not horrible before. Most of the time it stayed, but semi warm, it stalled. Had to rev it. Now have 4100 miles.
Addendum: Like to throw a shout out to my dealership, Gold Coast Motorsports. Its under fairly new ownership and I'm seeing vast improvements to the overall attitude of the service dept. and management. I'm now dealing with Curtis (same as my name, brother from another mother) who genuinely cares and communicates. I couldn't make my appt. due to stormy weather last week, so Curtis calls me a few days later and asks if I'd like to come in. That little gesture meant the world to me. Took pictures of my crankcase oil leak, told me he'll get right on the horn with Donnington. I was getting tired of being ignored. This guy is on the ball. East coasters, give Curtis a kind word when you stop in.
