Hi There, It took me a few days to come to grips with the idea that I need to have open heart surgery.
In the opinion of my cardiologist, there is no question of postponing the operation in October, according to him it is five past midnight; June 9, I see the doctor who is going to operate on me. He will also give me the date of the operation.
The only thing that bothers me is the eight weeks of revalidation, without a workshop or a motorbike.
I intend to take advantage of it before the operation, tomorrow I will ride with some friends and I continue to work on Fabien's Matchless.

Why are they looking for the pilot's head after an air crash in the Congo?
They're looking for the black box.

Yves

Hello Yves, ...it's 03:30 here & I couldn't sleep so....started looking over the forum and saw your post. I was hoping to see something new about your bike, not your ticker. Wow... open heart surgery! That is a lot to have to come to grips with, I must say though, modern medicine is quite amazing these days ( they removed my wife's brain tumor through her nose). Is it for bypass surgery or for valves? A friend of mine in Houston, just recently had open heart surgery to replace one of the valves in his heart and is doing very well afterwards. You can too, my thoughts and prayers are with you Yves. p.s. that's a messed up joke buddy, but it was funny. :)

Hi CJ,
It is for bypass and valves.
I don't complain, I am smoking sins I was 13 years old, so you can expect to receive the bill one day.
Thanks
Yves

Hi Yves, that is not the news that I wanted to hear. Hope you will overcome the hart problem, and will be back on the bike after a full recovery.
Do not rush things, and get well soon.

Hello everyone
I am really touched by your messages of encouragement, it has already repaired my heart by 50%.
Today I went to the hospital in Aalst to see the surgeon who is going to operate on me.
Now I know the date: June 29th.
The menu of the operation: four bypass, a new valve and a repair of another valve.
People may tell me it's a common operation, but I think it's a little more than appendicitis.
By waiting for the 29th I am working on the Matchless and I am driving with the Seeley which runs like a plane.
I do all this with the necessary caution. Well, I think...
The best in history: the chiurgien owns classic English motorcycles, that reassures me because if you know how to repair English motorcycles, an open heart operation is a joke, right?
I will survive

Yes, both models only have four valves per head.

Basically, you are in for a oversize valve job, with some seat repair and flow porting. No worries.

Get well soon Yves, don't hurry your recovery it could set you back. Do what the doctors say and take it easy, My Father had 5 way bypass surgery and lived 20 years after that. We made sure he followed doctors orders and it went well. Prayers your way, Chuck.

Yves, maybe you should start a new thread : "Rebuilding Yves"
Ik zal op 29 juni een kaarsje voor je aansteken .
My nephew turned 13 yesterday.
As a birthday present I took him to the strip tease.
When he saw the girl he started to cry.
-But why are you crying?
_Mum told me that if I looked at naked girls I would change into a marble statue.
-You don't believe that anyway?
-Yes, yes, and I feel like it's starting

The date of my open heart operation is fast approaching and curiously I am not afraid.
For the moment I put my life in slow motion, way of speaking
Last Sunday I took out the Seeley for a hundred kms, what a pleasure!
Monday I went overboard a bit: at the baker, at the butcher, at the pharmacist, at the super market, at the physiotherapist and finally the dentist
Tomorrow I'm going to Frank Jordens to start the Matchless with rollers.
And on Saturday I cook for friends.
In addition to that I am often in the hospital for additional exams.
I absolutely must calm down, if not I would not ritch June 29, the day of my operation
Keep you posted
Yves
