Rear light wiring

Just a quick question; when wiring up the rear light do you have the connections inside of the fibre glass light mount or outside, cable tied to the rear frame hoop. I would have thought it would be best to have the connections inside of the mount but the loom I'm fitting doesn't quite reach.

I've decided to wire my taillight internally. You can drill a hole right behind the upper shock mount(underneath the tube) or on the side next to the oil filler cap. Then drill a hole on the side of the rear fender bracket where the wires can exit to the taillight housing. Clean. No zap straps. The way it should have been done.
