Hi All - while I had the pillion seat pad off I noticed what seems to be some rust on the rear fairing frame through the holes in the top. While I'm not expecting it to fall apart I'm more concerned about rusty water working its way out and if I start spraying various preparations in there where is it going. Any ideas?

I also had corrosion on my rear frame on a 1150 only dry miles on my SF March 21st 2016 which I have already told Norton (Clem and Mat when contacting re seat manufacturing defect) but got no response so obviously I had to derust the offending area and Hammerite smooth it.
My concern though was exactly yours I was not so worried with rust on the totally exposed angle iron lift and right frame rail towards the rear of the bike in front of the rear wheel which is slightly exposed to throw of from wheel but if and if so how were the insides of the frame tubes treated or are they not?.

Rear Fairing Frame Corrosion
Clive,
Not uncommon, I also had some corrosion issues with my 2015SF. However, the boys at Donington sorted it for me and now I keep a close eye on the various places Where the paint/powder coat doesn't want to stay on.

Has anyone had a problem with the lacquered frames? My prob is not with my Norton, small bracket areas showing signs of rusting only so far, but my CCM has the lacquered, welds showing, finish and small areas of corrosion lines are starting to appear under the lacquer.
