Re-Chrome Headlight Brackets Or Not?

Got a quick estimate from New England Chrome Plating in East Hartford, CT this morning to re-chrome my headlight brackets for $55 each. They close Fridays at 11 am, so I didn't get a chance to question them about how the rusted areas would clean up or if they would look pretty much like new. I only want nice rider quality. Old Britts is selling new ones for $49 each. Is there any advantage to re-chroming my original ones?

They fatigue and crack. Would be a shame to see your freshly re-chromed ones fall apart ... !

Buy new ones is my advice.

Had a rusty Trident rear fender rechromed. Now the rust is popping back through. I would have been well along to the cost of a new one. Lesson learned.
