I think it'll be interesting getting the fueling dialed in on the new 2 into 1 system.
Do you have anyone helping you on this with new maps?

Just came back from UK and a visit to the Norton factory. There were some offers to possibly allow us access to the ECU to do our own maps. I promised to keep all new maps we might produce as Norton property. So if this does happen I will not be able to share the maps.
We will see. Currently, we plan to send the ECU to get current upgrades (Richard says it is a new operating system that is being loaded, and not a new map)

Do you know the weight of the stock vs the aluminum tank?richard-7 said:PPS -- My dads new aluminum tank is a lot lighter than the stock one if you want to shed pounds..
This should definitely solve the problems of chain and ground clearances. I am very surprised that the Zard system have their 2in1 exhaust on the right side, where there still might exist the problem with chain clearance...G81 Can Cycle said:Picture of the new 2 into 1 system after polish. This system currently only fits the racing 961 and has attachments to our in house rear sets. I guess we could make additional mounts to have this system mount to standard frame components. I am hesitant because there seems to be some aftermarket 2 into 1 systems starting to come on the market. Some feedback from the Access Norton 961 community would be nice
Ok, for the big news. I have shared garage space at the races with a Ducati team out of Fort Lauderdale. The owner of the team is really fast, number 1 plate in several classes. And, he happens to be a really nice guy, who is a gun aficionado. Many of you know that my machine shop makes firearms (it is about 30% of our revenues +$4 million a year in firearms) So a visit was made to my shop to look at firearm products. The conversion ended up going to the 961 and our problems with maps, and my concern with the new exhaust and getting the bike running better.
I was told that he could hack into the ECU and put a system in that could be used to generate our own maps. I said "How long will this take". He said "About 3 days" So he took my street 961 to Fort Lauderdale. Three days later we have a system that is running great. A new system and harness is being sent up to put on the race 961. We have played with several other items beside the new exhaust. Right now, the street bike with SB cat delete exhaust is showing a 15% increase in horsepower, over the base dyno reading when it arrived. It is running much smoother (the street bike has the 77 map on it)
I will have more details and info after we hook up the system on the race bike and play with it on the dyno.

If you do produce a small production run of the 2-into-1 exhaust:
Will the megaphone have silencing material inside to reduce noise?
Will the under engine pipe allow easy access to the engine sump plug? My SBN X-pipe is a nightmare for oil changes.

John,
Anything new concerning the 2-into-1 exhaust?
G81 Can Cycle said:Getting ready for final race at Barber this weekend, so I am a bit busy. But, I will have a year end update after Barber. We have several things we may offer for 961 owners. 2 into 1 exhaust fitted for stock bikes with oil change access and new drain plug. We have also successfully installed an after market tuner that automatically sets fuel, and reads new lamda sensors. Also some suspension goodies and rear sets
More info to come
