Good Luck. Make us proud. Can we get some info and a front view on the flyscreen? Looks great from here.

Those mufflers really clean up that back end , nothing in the way . ! Can you send a video and sound clip when you get a chance ? Thanks , Tony ..

Been busy, and no time to do a detailed re[port on the first race. But here are some pics of the team

I know I have neglected regular updates on the racing, but the shop is experiencing a 50% increase in business and it has kept me hopping.

But, I want to share something we are getting ready to do:

The last three tracks we have been on have had long straightaways. I am tapped out in 5th gear before I get 1/3 down the straightaways. Top speed of about 128 MPH.

We have just scanned and modeled the countershaft sprocket. We have ordered the tooling to cut the chain teeth, and have the tooling for cutting the internal spline.

I am making a one tooth up sprocket for the bike to try a get a little more speed on the top end. At the same time we are making a one tooth down sprocket for shorter track and street application. The one tooth down will cut top speed, but will make the bike faster from stop light to stop light.

I am thinking about making a short run of the one tooth down sprocket. Before I decide on the quantity, I thought I would see how much interest there was from this group in acquiring a one tooth down countershaft sproket

John,

Fascinating news.
I haven't taken my 961 to the limiter in 5th, I've been close, but it sure feels like it will reach it no problem.

Are there any other 961's at the events.

Hello,

running into the rev-limiter in 5th gear is with the standard sprocket normally not a problem.
My bike has no Cat, open long cans and a rich map.
I try to go a little longer with the secondary ratio.

Where I live going as fast as the bike can would get my bike taken away and a $10,000 fine. So I will take a sproket to give the bottom end a boost. Count me in. I'll make a manual on how to replace it aswell.

That's great Richard.
I am living 50 minutes from the German border and there are highway sections without speed limits. It is there where I tested the rev limiter. It was coming into action quite early, at about 7200 rpm, sometimes 7500 rpm... ECU should now be programmed that it comes a bit later, but did not test it yet.

8000 RPM should give near 135MPH . The motor should reach the rev limit in top with stock gearing . If John is not at the rev limit and he goes up a tooth , then he may go slower. This bike is making 1.7 MPH for every 100 RPM with stock gearing in top gear or there about . For best performance the bike must be able to pull the gearing it has . The 1 tooth less counter sprocket should make lifting the front wheel even easier for me . Tony
