Several forum members have met my grandson, Ken Migliardi, at INOA rallies and other events. Please take a moment to remember him.

Early Friday morning, 12 July, he was shot to death in a murder/suicide incident. He was with his recent girlfriend, house sitting her parents' house while the parents were traveling. They had been together for about four months, and were looking at marriage and starting a family. It was probably the happiest time of his life. Around 6 am that morning, her ex-boyfriend entered the house, shot Kenneth, and then killed himself in front of the girlfriend. Kenneth was taken to the local trauma center, where he was pronounced dead. The shooter died at the scene. Although she was not injured, his girlfriend was seriously traumatized. We are all totally devastated. Besides being my grandson, he was my friend and riding buddy, and I will never stop missing him.

This is him with my Commando at one of the INOA rallies.

This is his Commando, which we built together several years back, so he would have a Commando to ride with me. We did a lot of rides together with him on it and me on my 961. I plan to keep and ride it regularly as a remembrance.

A dreadful and tragic loss Ken.

Like Baz, I couldn’t quite believe I was reading this.

That's terrible Ken, I can only imagine what you and your family new going through.
My very best wishes and thoughts to everybody concerned in this tragic incident.

How devastating. I remember speaking to him at the Ashville rally. I told him he must be the youngest rider here. jokingly, told him he didn't really fit the demographic. His reply "I came with my grandfather; he built this bike for me." I fly out for the Hansen Dam ride every year and parked next to you two at the 49er a couple years back. So sorry Ken.

I am shocked and sad to read this. Such incomprehensible loss. My sincere condolences to you and and your family.

Absolutely terrible Ken - the loss of a grandchild is unimaginable -
My condolences to you and all of your family.

I cannot begin to imagine the tragedy you are faced with. My heart goes out to you and your family. Cj

Ken,

Words can't express the sorrow here. You had discussed several times the MK3 you did up with him and how delighted you both were to have this bond. I can only hope you find some peace knowing how much you shared with him, and the wonderful relationship you two had. These memories will be indelible and forever.

All of my heart,

-Kenny

News like this is everyday stuff...until it happens to you or someone you know. Most of us on this list
are just 'pen-pals' but this shocks us even as far away from it as we are. We can only imagine your
pain but at least know we care for you. May he rest in peace.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. We all (the family) are doing our best to remember and celebrate the good times we had with Kenneth, and to focus on how much he managed to enjoy his life. His life was cut short at 30 years, but they were good years for him. My best memories with him are all about working on bikes (and cars) with him in the shop, and our riding adventures together. We had plenty of other good times, but these are the ones I remember most.

Ken
