MMO is too light to hang around worth a darn for start up protection, but not a bad ideal to act as a solvent to thin the follow up 20-50 grade you wisely thought to do.
Get some down push rod tunnels for the all important cam lobe lifter contact.
Its not bad idea to turn motor and observe oil return to tank or at least out the sump manifold pipe. Also standard procedure to peek under cap once started to see oil returning before sealing cap. Consider this a new engine break in and change oil pretty soon. Also every other fluid should be re-newed if stored a few years.
You can put a dash of MMO in gas to help guides lube up - maybe 100:1 but it does lower octane more prone to detonation - don't put in enough to see it smoke. Better yet is a dash of Beanoil in gas, smells the part but a little dab will do ya. I tired it in chain saws, nice at first but like having head stuck in pits run up area to pollute ya sawing in one place w/o much breeze - then sickening odor.
